Over 150 Baptized into the Orthodox Faith in Kananga (PHOTOS)

On April 19, 2025, the Saturday before the Sunday of the Resurrection of our Lord, the Metropolitan of Kananga in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chariton, led a mystery of baptism in which over 150 joined the Holy Orthodox faith.

On the Metropolis of Kananga Facebook page, they noted, “All of you who have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”

After the baptism, in his brief address to the newly baptized, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Kananga and Greater Kasaai, Chariton Ilunga Musungayi, urged the newly enlightened to keep the baptismal tunic spotless throughout their lives, meaning that they must remain faithful in their Orthodox faith, without fail.

Mystery of Matrimony after Baptism in Kananga

After the Baptism, the Metropolitan presided over the Mystery of Holy Matrimony, where seven (7) couples united in the Common life of marriage to the great satisfaction of God’s people.
